[CLOSED] Cursed Deiaph #1 (Ends tomorrow)

Gonna make any closed species from here on out actually pertain to the world all my OC's reside in (Yggdrasil).

So this species is called Deiaphim (Day-Aff-Im. plural), but the individuals are called a Deiaph (Day-Aff). They're the same species that my OC's Vyxiel and Sylviel are (though I need to add the tails to their designs). The Deiaphim are a Fae race, which means that they are mana-infused. That in turn means that all Deiaphim are born with the ability to use magic, though some are better than others. (Likewise, some are only able to do basic spells, so it is not uncommon to find a Deiaph that prefers swords over staves.) Deiaphim may appear in innocent-looking humanoid forms to most other races, but their true form is that of a large monstrous beast. (Think average dragon size. Also they are generally wolf-bird hybrid looking.) But for easier interaction with say, humans or elves, they shapeshift into these smaller, almost childlike bodies. That being said, remnants of their true bodies still show (horns, tail, claws). The smaller bodies are also easier to maintain, since their true forms require a lot more mana to power. (They eat mana as a form of sustenance, so things like mana-infused food or creatures. They used to hunt the other Fae races, but the elder Deiaphim ruled it forbidden. They would have to consume a LOT to maintain their bodies. The smaller bodies don't require nearly as much food). Deiaphim names usually end in -el or -iel (the prior usually pertaining to males, and the latter usually females. Though it is not uncommon to see iel used for male names and vice versa.) A Deiaph's age is determined from the length of their horns. This one is rather young. 

The Deiaphim in ancient times wanted to help the other races of Yggdrasil, since they viewed themselves as much more powerful than them. However, the human race, warring amongst itself at the time, wanted to use the Deiaphim as weapons. While a few Deiaphim were willing, most of the Deiaphim refused to be used like siege weapons. They decided to seal themselves off from the rest of the world. But before they could finalize the wards around their homeland, the bitter humans of past cursed them. Every newborn Deiaph would be born with this curse, severely stunting their mana reserves, making it nigh impossible to maintain their true body, even for a few moments. It forces them to stay in their humanoid forms, feeling trapped in a small vessel. The curse also makes them 'sterile', threatening to make the Deiaph die out. (They reproduce magically but I haven't figured the details out yet). Lastly, the curse manifests as a symbol/brand on their upper back. I still have to design it though. There are probably things I've forgotten so I may try to make a reference sheet if there's interest in the Deiaph.

This Deiaph is cursed, and cannot transform into its true form. You can still autobuy for a sketch of what it would look like though.
